Assorted Nuts, A Family Album

Book Tour Photos
My first book tour began in Warren, Vermont, where the story was set.  The following press release appeared in the local paper:

    Mad River’s Storybook
      Wedding Goes Nuts

        American Flatbread Celebrates
Assorted Nuts: A Family Album

Everyone has nutty family stories and Sandy Bax retells her own through the course of an idyllic wedding at The Lareau Farm Country Inn in the new book, Assorted Nuts: A Family Album.

The recently published novel and first time production for Bax is set in the Mad River Valley and follows her laugh-out-loud account of everything from teenage antics to multiple divorces, surviving breast cancer and alcoholism, caring for aging parents and ultimately finding her own voice in the Green Mountains.

American Flatbread and Lareau Farm Country Inn will host Bax for the public release and book signing event on December 4 and 5.    A portion of the proceeds from book sales during the event will be donated to The Vermont Food Bank in American Flatbread's name.

                               So........

I kicked things off with book signing event at the Joslin Memorial Library in Waitsfield and the Warren Public Library.

Then, it was on to the Mad River Valley TV studio for a live interview with Deborah Kahn of channel 44.

One of my favorite appearances was at the Cover to Cover Bookstore in Randolph, Vermont, run by Jeanne Ward.  There were ten authors there and it was very rewarding.

The highlite of my book tour was an appearance at American Flatbread and the Lareau Farm Inn where the story was set on December 4 & 5th.
Once back in Clearwater, Florida, I did a book signing at The Top of The World Town Center where my father (one of the ASSORTED NUTS) lives.
Coming soon.  Photos of my first public appearance speaking to a local writer's club.

He wrote a dynamite article for the his
community paper.

"Hi, Folks.  My name is Howard Chapel, but

I’m better known as “Coach” around these
parts.
I have just finished reading the funniest
book ever.
It is entitled,
ASSORTED NUTS – A FAMILY
ALBUM
and I am one of the nuts.
My daughter, Sandra Chapel Bax, is the author and people are saying some great things about her book.

The main story is set in the mountains of Vermont, where my first grand-daughter was married. uring the wedding, many of Sandra’s memories are reignited.  These are recalled in flashback  chapters and include a rather troubled childhood, three husbands, living through breast cancer, and helping me care for her mother in her declining years.  But, don’t get me wrong.  Even though ASSORTED NUTS is heart-wrenching at times, it is a survivor’s tale that is heartwarming and hilarious.

Sandra will be appearing at the OTOW Recreation Hall on the east side for a book signing event  on Thursday, December 10th, 2009 right after The Good Neighbors Meeting. You will be able to  purchase a signed book just in time for Christmas! (I’ll be there too.)

Until then, see you on the golf course,

Coach

P.S.  He's almost 98 years old!!!!!
